Mann passes the CPA Exam

Matt Mann passed the CPA Exam in the 4th Quarter of 2009.  Matt met all qualifications and was certified February 2010.

 

Janice Gray Presenter at National Peer Review Conference

In August 2009, Janice Gray was a presenter at the National Peer Review Conference in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

 

Cox Becomes Partner

In January 2009, Janese Cox became the newest partner in the Firm.

 

Roye passes the CPA Exam

Ross Roye passed the CPA Exam in the 4th Quarter of 2008.  Ross met all qualifications and was certified January 2009.

 

Janice Gray Reappointed to OAB

In April 2008, Janice L. Gray was reappointed by Governer Henry to serve an additional 5 year term expiring June 2013.

 

Rodney Gray Passes the Gavel

On June 11, 2008, Rodney Gray officially ended his term as the President of the Oklahoma Society of CPAs.  In a yearly meeting, Rodney passed his Gavel to the new President.

 

Blodgett Receives District Award of Merit for 2007

Ted Blodgett received the District Award of Merit for 2007 from the Boy Scouts of America.

CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION ATTENDED

June 2010

  • Matt and Ross completed a 24 hour CPE presented by Kurt Oestreicher for Staff-Training-Beginning In Charge.
  • The team attended the OSCPA Annual Meeting for CPE and festivities at the Embassy Suites in Norman.
  • Janice gave a presentation at the School Auditor's Workshop.
  • John completed CPE on 704(c) allocations and fair value accounting through the AICPA.
  • Matt completed 4 hours of CPE on Form 990.

May 2010

  • The team attended the Norman Chapter of CPA's CPE luncheon at the Embassy Suites in Norman presented by Gary Holmes regarding succession planning.
  • Amanda and Ross completed a 2 day 16 hour CPE at the Clarion Meridian Conference Center in OKC regarding Governmental auditing.  Janice was a speaker at this conference.

April 2010

  • The team attended the Norman Chapter of CPA's CPE luncheon at the Embassy Suites in Norman presented by Daryl Hill regarding professional issues updates.

March 2010

  • Janese completed a 2 hour CPE webinar on 2010 electronic processing of Form 5500.
  • Janice completed a 2 hour course on NFP auditing.
  • Janice, Ross, and Amanda completed four part, 8 hour AICPA CPE webinar regarding audit fundamentals and reporting.

 

February 2010

  • The team attended the Norman Chapter of CPA's CPE luncheon at the Embassy Suites in Norman presented by Anita Douglas of the IRS regarding the IRS' field audit procedures.
  • Ross completed a 2 hour AICPA CPE webinar regarding the fraud risks in employee benefit plans.

 

January 2010

  • Matt completed an 8 hour Professional Ethics CPE Course, and 23 hours of tax CPE regarding the taxation and tax issues of Individuals, Partnerships, & Corporations.
  • John, Janese & Ann completed a 1 hour CPE regarding Partnerships and Section 704(c).
  • The team attended the Norman Chapter of CPA's CPE luncheon at the Embassy Suites in Norman regarding Oklahoma Tax Updates presented by Kevin Ratliff.
  • Ross completed a 2 hour CPE regarding Employee Benefit Plans.

 

December 2009

  • Bobby attended an OSCPA CPE regarding Convert IRA's by Surgent McCoy instructed by David Hulstrom.
  • Rodney, Ted, Janese & Bobby attended a 16 hour, 2 day CPE at the OSCPA in Tulsa.
  • Amanda attended an 8 hour CPE on the Auditor's Risk Assessment Process regarding the new SAS's.
  • Amanda attended the CPE Blowout for 8 hours of Audit CPE regarding financial fraud, forensics, & the CPA, and common frauds in disbursements.
  • The team attended a 3 hour Professional Issues Update presented by Daryl Hill at the Embassy Suites in Norman.

 

November 2009

  • Bobby & Ann participated in an 8 hour CPE at the OSCPA offices over the AICPA Tax Updates on Pass-thru Entities taught by Peter Towle.
  • Rodney & Ted attended a 16 hour, 2 day Advanced Fiduciary Tax Workshop instructed by Robert Barnhill.
  • Amanda attended a 16 hour, 2 day CPE event regarding NFP and Circular A-133 Audits.
  • John completed an online 24.5 hour CPE regarding Form 990.
  • Janese & Ann attended a 6 hour Norman Chapter CPE Event.

 

October 2009

  • John & Ann attended a 16 hour, 2 day CPE course on individual taxation.
  • The team attended the Norman Chapter of CPA's luncheon at Benvenuti's regarding small business protection strategies presented by David Chaney of Legacy Planning Partners, LLC.
  • Amanda & Ross participated in a 2 hour webinar regarding Auditwatch and PPC's Smart.
  • Bill participated in a CPE regarding researching the new FASB codification system.
  • Janese completed a 19 hour AICPA self-study course entitled AICPA's Answer to Unlocking the Tax Complexities.

  • The team attended the Norman Chapter of CPA's luncheon at Benvenuti's regarding new ideas for benefit planning for small to mid-size employers presented by Dudley Hype.
  • Amanda & Ross participated in a conference call sponsored by the AICPA Governmental Audit Quality Center regarding GAQC FSP 117-1 and the UPMIFA.
  • Ross participated in a CPE regarding researching the new FASB codification system.

August 2009

  • The team attended the Norman Chapter of CPA's Red Lobster luncheon for 1 hour of CPE regarding women's financial literacy.
  • Janice & Bill attended a 7 hour CPE regarding Advanced Auditing of HUD-Assisted Projects.
  • Janice, Bill, Ross & Amanda attended an 8 hour CPE course on Governmental & Nonprofit Updates.
  • Janice attended the 3 day AICPA Peer Review Program Conference for 18 hours of CPE that included Peer Review, Employee Benefit Plans, & Governmental Auditing.
  • Janice, Ross & Amanda attended an 8 hour CPE event at the Clarion Meridian Convention Center that included 4 hours of updates on accounting & auditing, & 4 hours of fraud & internal controls regarding revenue & cash receipts.
  • Rodney attended a 1.5 hour CPE event on updates with 1st Global.
